Making my ideas tangible in sculpture is the way I communicate most naturally with the world.
I am a prolific maker, utilising all kinds of materials to create objects. I have been doing this for as long as I can remember.
My passion and dedication to making has led me to this point. Simultaneously working as a jewellery designer and creative florist for many years developing the techniques behind the ideas. The inspiration behind these ideas come from everyday life. Small details are my source of distraction and interest.
When it comes to choosing materials, I recycle where possible. Discarded books provide beautiful papers and images, industrial scrap metal off cuts are often used in my work. Flowers and foliage are sometimes picked from gardens and surrounds as well as bought from local producers. I re use what is already around. Precious gems and minerals are purchased from reputable responsible producers and suppliers, and chemicals are kept to a minimum.
